Nestled in the heart of Ubud, SUKSMA KOPI UBUD offers coffee lovers and food enthusiasts an authentic taste of Bali's rich heritage through its exceptional locally sourced coffee and delightful traditional breakfast fare. Located on Jl. Sukma Kesuma No.1, this charming coffee shop captures the essence of Balinese warmth and hospitality, making it more than just a place to grab a coffee—it’s a serene retreat tucked away in a peaceful garden oasis.
The culinary experience here revolves around lovingly prepared breakfast favorites and inventive coffee blends, showcasing 100% local Balinese beans grown on the family farm. Each dish is crafted to tickle your senses and introduce you to the flavors of Bali. Whether you crave the comforting savoriness of the fried rice with chicken, tofu satay, and egg or the vibrant freshness of a fruits salad, SUKSMA KOPI UBUD serves generous portions that satisfy both heart and palate. The gado-gado—a colorful mix of tofu, tempeh, egg, potato, and crisp vegetables drenched in rich peanut sauce—is a signature that perfectly represents traditional Indonesian comfort food.
What truly sets this coffee shop apart is its creative coffee menu. The SUKSMA COFFEE is a standout, blending Bali Kintamani coffee beans with local herbs like lemongrass and ginger, delivering a soothing, aromatic cup that transports you to the island’s tranquil highlands. Their coconut coffee, melding the rich, creamy sweetness of coconut milk with their signature Bali blend, offers a luscious twist on your everyday brew. For those seeking a velvety drink, the chocolate coffee made with either oat or dairy milk brings together the best of Balinese coffee and cocoa, leaving a lingering, indulgent warmth.
Stepping inside SUKSMA KOPI UBUD is like entering a Balinese home — a place where time slows and genuine smiles are abundant. The lush garden setting invites you to unwind amidst tropical greenery, while the traditional architecture and a central temple imbue the space with a sense of calm and authenticity. This ambience has inspired visitors like Anna San Miguel to call it a “cute hidden gem,” applauding not only the delicious mango smoothie bowl and coconut cappuccino but also the welcoming family atmosphere that feels like a personal discovery.
Many guests have been equally impressed by the hospitality and community spirit. Jasmin Wasl highlights the friendly staff and the commitment to authentic, homegrown coffee, noting how the family-run business also contributes meaningfully to local education and coffee cultivation. Likewise, Daniel Lazicki praises their coffee tasting experience, describing it as "amazing" and encouraging visitors to try their rare Luwak coffee, reflecting the shop’s dedication to both quality and tradition.
For those who appreciate not just excellent coffee but a deeper connection to the origin of their cup, SUKSMA KOPI UBUD offers intimate tours and classes on coffee selection, roasting, and brewing—crafted by the knowledgeable owners and baristas who are passionate about sharing their craft. Ivan Llopis recounts his experience roasting his own coffee to take home, emphasizing the informative and engaging nature of these sessions.

What a cute hidden gem! As you walk past the entrance you quickly enter into a little oasis. Immersed into the family home this is a perfect spot for a meal. I got the mango smoothie bowl and coconut cappuccino. The smoothie bowl was very filling and cappuccino was a perfect pick me up. Will definitely be coming back. Hidden gem in Ubud! Beautiful and peaceful garden, all the staff very nice and friendly, great authentic food. I especially love the smoothie bowls and the their tempeh! Also pretty good wifi, so i sometimes spend there the whole day just on coffee-eat-work-repeat mode. Oh and their coffee is from their family farm and roasted in the back building. 100% balinese family business.

If you are looking for good food, great coffee and excellent people, you have to go here. I’m a coffee snob and did their coffee tasting and it was amazing. And if you are looking to try Luwak coffee, they have it and you have you try it. They do much more than just run a coffee shop, they grow their coffee, teach children and experiment with new techniques. I love supporting such an all around great business. You’ll regret not sitting down and ordering a coffee.

Not many people know about this place yet (maybe). I don’t really want to gatekeep, but I don’t know—this place is just so nice! Inside, it really feels like Bali, with a little village vibe and a temple in the middle. The food here is very reasonably priced, with big portions and super delicious taste.

Original name: Bali Arabica Roastery Best coffee place in Bali. Coffee is great and the barista is amazing. Well made flat white and an amazing balanced V60 Wine Kintamani coffee. They held a very complete and informative class about the regional coffee, processes and roasting. We tasted different coffees and even roasted our own coffee to take home! A truly amazing experience, much recommended!

The driver/guide, Gede picked us up and we made our way to Suksma Coffee, a lovely coffee cafe off the beaten path of Ubud. Owner/operator, Como (sp?), was very hospitable and gave us a lesson on Balinese coffee varieties and now to prepare the perfect cup of coffee. We then were shown how to select quality beans, roast and grind them. Following, Gede took us to a local coffee farm to view rows of coffee plants which had companion plants such as orange and avocado trees and chayote vines. On the way back to Suksma Coffee, we stoped at a Lewak coffee place to view how these cats contribute to that variety of coffee. On our return we were treated to a delicious Balinese meal of chicken satay, noodles and veggies. There is coffee for purchase at the shop. It was a long but very interesting day! Thank you Como and family, Suksma Coffee team and Gede!
